Bluecycle – Sharing Through Recycling

BlueCycle was started by the WP Community Fund (“WPCF”) in response to the requests for furniture and other household items, from residents living in rental flats. Stemming from word of mouth, Good Samaritans across Singapore offered their pre-loved household items that are in working condition to WPCF, enabling our volunteers to match the said items with beneficiary residents, thus establishing BlueCycle as we know it today. With greater support, we hope to bring joy and benefit to more families in need.

BlueCycle is made possible by the generous gifting of pre-loved items and tireless volunteers who amass and deliver the donated items. Together with the Carousell #GiveforSG initiative, we endeavour to match large pre-loved items with our beneficiaries and upon matching, our volunteers will pick up and deliver matched items to beneficiaries. Include #BlueCycle in your Carousell listing title to reserve your items for us and our volunteers will chat with you to request for the items if they are a match with our beneficiaries' needs.

At BlueCycle, we take pride in protecting Mother Earth. Although we are only able to pick up items that are matched, we encourage donors of unmatched items to offer their kindness to other organisations. At WPCF, we align with the belief that Sharing is Caring!

Below are some commonly asked questions about Bluecycle:

  1. What items can I donate?
    We usually receive requests for white goods (e.g. washing machine, refrigerators etc.) and furniture (e.g. beds, sofas, cupboards etc.). However, since the suitability of items will depend on whether there is a match with beneficiary, please list your items on Carousell (remember to indicate #bluecycle in your listing) or fill up this form and we will reply if there is a match.

  2. What items do you NOT accept?
    We regret that we are unable to take donations of clothes, newspapers, toys, books and other non-electrical small items.

  3. How soon can you collect the items from me?
    As we do not have any storage space, we will only contact donors when we are able to find a matching recipient. This typically takes a couple of weeks.

    We will then arrange to collect these items from donors and deliver these on the same day to the matched recipients. This is usually done on a Saturday.

  4. What if my item is faulty, damaged or badly worn out?
    We do not provide repair or installation services (although we do assist with dismantling your bulky items for transportation if necessary). Only items in clean and good working condition will be accepted.

  5. Which parts of Singapore do you collect/deliver these items?
    We accept donated items and requests for such items from any part of Singapore although priority will be given to recipients living in Aljunied GRC, Sengkang GRC and Hougang SMC.

  6. Do I have to pay a fee or help with the removal?
    Of course not! However, we gladly appreciate any monetary donations to the WP Community Fund which helps to keep Bluecycle and our other welfare assistance programs going. We warmly welcome you to join us as a volunteer too whenever you can!

  7. Will I get to meet the recipient or know who my donated items have gone to?
    To protect the confidentiality of our less privileged recipients, we seek your kind understanding that this is not possible.
